Week of Oct 13th

- Philmont Gear meeting Sunday Oct 19th 5-6pm in the Scout Hut.

- Sign up now for the Wilderness Skills campout, weekend of October
24-26. Camp prep is this weekend. Email info@supertroop197.com to
sign up. If you've already signed up, no need to do so again.

- Meeting Sunday usual time usual place. We will be learning
wilderness skills via a presentation and activity and will be
conducting camp prep.

- No Trinity MB clinic this week. Cycling was held on October 4th and
does not have a second session.

- OA Day of Service, Saturday Oct 18th at the Chattahoochee River
National Recreation Area (Columns Drive entrace at the Cochran
Shoals location). See the Lodge website for more informmation.

- No meeting this Sunday due to Columbus Day holiday

- Philmont Gear meeting Sunday Oct 19th 5-6pm

- Service opportunity on Saturday October 11th 10am to noon, at the
Turner Family Cemetery in the Riverline Historic Area. The Turners
were mid-nineteenth century pioneer farmers who settled the land
where we live today. As a volunteer, you will have the unique
opportunity to learn some archaeology techniques from Suzanne
Sammons, while helping to restore a historic cemetery, a cornerstone
of our local American heritage. Hand pruners are a basic tool

- Check out the library of historic scouting materials hosted by Troop
186. Included in their library are copies of the original Scout
Handbook (1911 edition) and the original "Scouting for Boys" by Sir
Robert Baden-Powell.

Week of Sept 22nd

- Meeting this Sunday usual time, usual place. We will have a patrol
meeting, Northern Tier presentation, and scout advancement skills
opportunities.

- Read Chief Scout Executive Wayne Brock's thoughts on a variety of

- Trinity Merit Badge Clinic Oct 4th and 16th will cover the Cycling
Merit Badge. The Oct 4th session will be part of the Scout Day at

Week of Sept 15th

- Many scouts have taken the opportunity to switch patrols using our
new leadership board. If you wish to switch patrols, you need to
first check with the patrol leader to make sure its not full and
you need to let Dr. Krupczak know so he can update TM. Scouts,
please only one patrol switch per school year.

- No meeting this Sunday due to the rafting campout.

- Campout this weekend! You should hear from your PL by Wednesday
evening. Meet Friday 5:30 at the summer camp pavilion.

Week of Sept 8th

- Regular scout meeting Sunday 3:30pm in the scout hut.
Rafting camp prep plus rafting skills presentation.

- Forms and dues are past due (pardon the pun). If you have not
submitted your signed forms nor paid your yearly dues, please do so
by Sunday's meetings.

possible. Your leadership credit does not start until you email
me.

Week of August 25th

- If you would like to receive text message updates regarding the

website. If you would prefer to receive text messages reminding you
of weekly updates, please email your cell number to Trevor Jones and
he will add you to the GroupMe list.

- If you had a summer leadership position (e.g. summer camp SPL),
please email Dr. Krupczak rdk@krupczak.org your position and
date ranges along with a brief description. If you don't email me,
you won't get credit.

- If you are first class or higher, you need a troop leadership
position to fulfill your rank requirements. (Eagle scouts do not
need an explicit leadership position.) Email your desired
leadership position to Dr. Krupczak. Your leadership position does
not start until you send your email. Positions available include
Troop Guide, Den Chief, Quartermaster, OA rep, Chaplains Aide, and
Instructor. Please take a look at the high level position

Week of August 11th
- Parents' meeting Sunday August 17th, 3:30-5:00pm in the Scout Hut.
We will review troop policies, gear, our camping program, high
adventure, advancement, blue cards, etc.
- Parents, you should have received scout forms via email. If you
havent, send Bobby Krupczak email and he will re-send them.
- If you are new to the troop, print out and bring forms to the
parents' meeting this Sunday. You can find forms at=20

For new scouts, we need items 1-4. Westminster scouts will have
their fees added to their student account; non-Westminster scouts,
please bring a check for $125 made out to Westminster Troop 197.
- First Scout Meeting is Sunday August 24th usual time usual place.
- First Campout - Ocoee River Rafting – September 19-21. Campout signup is under way and email
info@supertroop197.com to sign up.
